Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Izivote (“Izivote”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, stores, and protects personal data when you access or use our website and services (the “Service”). This Policy is designed to comply with applicable privacy laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
1. Scope and Roles
Izivote operates as a software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform that enables users to create and manage online votes and polls. In most cases:
Izivote acts as a data processor with respect to personal data included in user-created votes.
The user who creates and manages a vote acts as the data controller for any personal data they upload or make public.
Izivote does not determine the purpose or content of user-created votes and does not independently verify or moderate personal data included in such votes, except where required by law.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
Account information such as name, email address, and login credentials.
Usage data including IP address, browser type, device information, and interaction logs.
User Content, including vote titles, descriptions, nominees, images, and metadata, as uploaded by users.
3. How We Use Information
We use personal data to:
Provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
Authenticate users and secure accounts.
Process payments and revenue sharing, where applicable.
Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
4. User Content and Privacy Responsibility
Users are solely responsible for the personal data and content they upload, publish, or display through the Service, including data relating to nominees, individuals, or third parties.
If any individual claims that:
Their personal data has been used without consent,
Their image, name, or likeness has been uploaded without authorization, or
Their privacy rights have otherwise been violated,
such claims must be directed to the user who created and manages the relevant vote. The account owner is responsible for investigating, responding to, and resolving all such claims, including removing or correcting content where appropriate.
Izivote is not responsible for the legality, accuracy, or permissibility of User Content and does not act as an intermediary for resolving privacy disputes between users and third parties.
5. Legal Bases for Processing (GDPR)
Where applicable under GDPR, Izivote processes personal data based on one or more of the following legal bases:
Performance of a contract with the user.
Compliance with legal obligations.
Legitimate interests, such as securing and improving the Service.
User consent, where required.
6. Data Retention
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to provide the Service, comply with legal requirements, or resolve disputes. User Content is retained according to the account owner’s configuration or until the account is deleted, unless longer retention is required by law.
7. Data Security
Izivote implements reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect personal data. However, no system is completely secure, and we do not guarantee absolute security.
8. International Data Transfers
Your data may be processed or stored outside your country of residence. Where required, Izivote uses appropriate safeguards to ensure lawful cross-border data transfers.
9. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal data. Requests relating to data contained within a specific vote must be directed to the vote creator.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page, and continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
